In connection with the higher educational/ academic goals of the IWT, a separate concern – the Institute of Higher Learning - was initiated in 2004. All research work oriented towards Islamic studies as also the training of future scholars on Islam have been delegated to this new department. Furthermore, it is now through the agency of this institute that Arabic is taught to students desirous of picking up the language, through a well-structured correspondence course that employs specially designed text books and pre-recorded lessons taught through audio cassettes.
